One day after school, GENKI SAKURA excitedly finds a "Monster Rancher 200X" CD-ROM delivered to his home which is the grand prize from the Monster Rancher video game championship he's won. When the characters in the game create a new monster by taking a Mystery Disk to an ancient temple, Genki literally gets sucked into their world. Genki himself is "unlocked" from the mystery disk, much to the surprise of teenager HOLLY and her eye-ball shaped monster SUEZO. Happily caught up in the Monster Rancher realm, it's up to Genki, MOCCHI, Holly, Suezo and the rest of their fearless friends who join them along the way in their quest to find the mystery disk containing the legendary PHOENIX. Only the powerful Phoenix can stop the evil MOO from turning all good monsters into BADDIES. From fighting ferocious BLACK DINOS, to battling the gelatinous JELL TROOPS, Genki and his pals will stop at nothing to find that decisive disk!
